WHO ARE WE?

We are a State of Alaska Type 2 IA wildland fire crew based in Fairbanks, Alaska, founded in 2009. Our crew responds to wildland fires across the state and the Lower 48. White Mountain operates for the State of Alaska Division of Forestry and Fire Protection (DFFP) under the Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

Our season runs from April to October, starting off with our Critical 80. While we have Alaskans from around the state on our crew, we also have crew members who come from all over the United States.

The crew offers limited housing on base to those that need it, with many renting dry cabins around the greater Fairbanks area. Being located close to the University, laundry and stores are within walking distance, as well as several local restaurants.
